What types of shelter did the Olmec use?

Rectangular houses: These were the most common type of Olmec shelter. They were made of perishable materials such as wood, thatch, and mud. The houses were often raised on stilts to protect them from flooding.

Round houses: These were less common than rectangular houses, but they were also used by the Olmec. Round houses were made of the same materials as rectangular houses.

Temples and ceremonial buildings: These were the largest and most elaborate structures built by the Olmec. They were made of stone and often decorated with elaborate carvings. Temples and ceremonial buildings were used for religious ceremonies and other important events.
