What land did great Britain claim in the new world?

British America, also called British North America, was the collective name for the territories in the Americas that were under British control from the early 17th century until the American Revolution in the late 18th century. The British colonies in North America were:

- The thirteen colonies: Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.

- The Canadian colonies: Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec, and the Hudson's Bay Territory.

- The British West Indies: Bermuda, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Barbados, the Leeward Islands, and the Windward Islands.

- British Guiana: Essequibo, Demerara, and Berbice.

- British Honduras: Belize.
