Who did ancient Argos worship?

The Argives, the inhabitants of ancient Argos, worshipped many deities, including:

- Hera: Hera, the queen of the gods, was the most important deity in Argos and was worshipped as the goddess of marriage and childbirth.

- Zeus: Zeus, the king of the gods, was also worshipped in Argos, but his cult was not as prominent as Hera's.

- Apollo: Apollo, the god of music, art, and prophecy, was another important deity in Argos, and his oracle at Delphi was widely consulted.

- Asclepius: Asclepius, the god of medicine and healing, was also worshipped in Argos, and his sanctuary at Epidaurus was a major center of healing.

- Aphrodite: Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, was also worshipped in Argos, and her cult was particularly associated with the city's famous statue of the Aphrodite of Argos.
