What is the roman armor made out of?

Roman armour was often a combination of materials, such as iron, steel, bronze, or leather. Iron and steel were commonly used for helmets, breastplates, and greaves (shin guards). Bronze was often used for helmets and other decorative pieces. Leather was used for body armour, such as the lorica segmentata (segmented plate armour) and the lorica hamata (chain mail).
