What kind of men did Harold Godwinson have in the battle hastings?

The fyrd, a levy of part-time soldiers raised from across England, formed the bulk of Harold's forces. They armed with spears, swords, and axes, and wore simple leather armor. The Huscarls, a professional bodyguard of royal thegns, were also present in significant numbers. They armed similarly to the fyrd but wore superior mail hauberks and chainmail helmets. In addition, Harold had a contingent of mounted knights, likely composed of thegns and their retinues. These knights provided a decisive edge in the early stages of the battle.
