What road could Persians have taken to invade Athens?

There is no direct road or land route from Persia (modern Iran) to Athens, Greece. Persia is located in Asia, while Athens is located in Europe. In order to reach Athens, the Persians would have had to cross the Hellespont (the narrow strait connecting the Aegean Sea to the Black Sea) and then continue overland through Thrace and Macedonia. This route would have been long and arduous, and would have required the Persians to cross several major mountain ranges. Additionally, the Persians would have had to contend with the Greek city-states that lay along their path, which would have been likely to resist any invasion.
