What did King Edward VIII eat?

Edward VIII was known to enjoy simple, traditional English dishes. Some of his favourites included:

- Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding: A classic British Sunday lunch, roast beef would have typically been served with roasted vegetables, gravy, and a crispy Yorkshire pudding made from batter.

- Grilled lamb chops: Tender lamb chops, perfectly grilled and seasoned, accompanied by sides such as mint sauce, vegetables, and possibly even bubble and squeak, a fried mixture of leftover mashed potatoes and cabbage or other vegetables.

- Game dishes: As a king with access to royal sporting estates, Edward VIII had the privilege of enjoying game meats such as roasted pheasant, venison, or grouse, which would have been presented during shooting parties and formal dinners.

- Traditional puddings: The king had a fondness for classic English desserts like bread and butter pudding, a comforting sweet dish made with layers of bread, butter, raisins, and custard; or he might indulge in jam roly-poly, a baked dough filled with jam and served with custard or cream.
