Ancient history

How did the Incas earn money?

The Incas did not use money in the same way that we do today. Instead, they had a barter economy, which means that they exchanged goods and services for other goods and services. For example, a farmer might trade some of his corn for a potter's bowl.

The Incas also had a system of taxation, but instead of paying taxes with money, people paid with labor. For example, a family might be required to work on a government project for a certain number of days each year.

The Incas were very organized and efficient in their use of resources. They were able to build a large and powerful empire without the use of money.
