What was the period of old stone age?

The Paleolithic era, or Old Stone Age, is the longest period in human history, lasting from the appearance of the first stone tools – around 2.6 million years ago – until the development of agriculture around 10,000 years ago. It is characterized by the use of simple stone tools and the hunting and gathering of food. During the Paleolithic era, humans evolved from small, nomadic groups to more complex, settled communities. They also began to develop art, music, and religion.
