What was the first ATM?

De La Rue Automatic Cash System (ACS)

- Developed by the British company De La Rue.

- Installed at Enfield branch of Barclays Bank, London in June 1967.

- Customers authenticated by punched cards and a four digit PIN.

- Each punch card limited to 10 transactions at most five withdrawals within a calendar week to a minimum of £10.

- Only Barclays customers could use the ATM.
