What were the Seljuq rulers called?

The Seljuq rulers were called sultans. The title of sultan was first used by Mahmud of Ghazna in the early 11th century, and was later adopted by the Seljuqs. The Seljuq sultans were the supreme rulers of the Seljuq Empire, and they held absolute power over their subjects. They were also the religious leaders of the empire, and they were responsible for enforcing Islamic law.
