How did Odysseus and Telemachus meet?

In Homer's Odyssey, Odysseus and Telemachus meet at the palace of Odysseus in Ithaca. Telemachus had gone there in search of his father, who had been away for 20 years fighting in the Trojan War. Odysseus had been disguised as a beggar by the goddess Athena and had been living in the palace for some time without anyone knowing who he was. When Telemachus arrived, he was initially suspicious of the beggar but eventually recognized his father with the help of Athena. The reunion of Odysseus and Telemachus is a key moment in the Odyssey and marks the beginning of Odysseus's journey back home to Ithaca.
