What date did the Aztec civilization start?

There is no single date that marks the beginning of the Aztec civilization. The Aztecs were a Nahuatl-speaking people who migrated to the Valley of Mexico in the 14th century. They founded the city of Tenochtitlan in 1325, and their empire grew rapidly in the following centuries. The Aztec Empire reached its peak in the early 16th century, just before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.
