What does panteon mean?

The English word "pantheon" is a transliteration of the Greek _pantheion_, meaning "all gods." It refers to a building dedicated to the gods of many religions, particularly that of ancient Rome, where the gods of various conquered peoples were worshipped. In modern usage, the word is often used figuratively to refer to a group of important people or to the collective body of gods and goddesses in a religious tradition.
