At their peak, the Aztec Empire spanned over 80,000 square miles (210,000 square kilometres), reaching from the Valley of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean in the west and to Guatemala in the south. The empire incorporated parts of modern-day Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras.
