Why did the colonists feel that taxes and laws were unfair?

There were a number of reasons why the colonists felt that taxes and laws were unfair.

* They did not have representation in the British Parliament. The colonists were British subjects, but they did not have any say in how the British government was run. This meant that they had no control over the taxes that were imposed on them or the laws that were passed.

* The taxes were often very high. The colonists felt that the taxes that they were paying to the British government were too high. They argued that they were paying more in taxes than the British citizens in England.

* The laws were often oppressive. The colonists felt that many of the laws that the British government passed were oppressive. For example, the colonists were required to house and feed British soldiers, and they were not allowed to trade with other countries.

These are just a few of the reasons why the colonists felt that taxes and laws were unfair. These feelings eventually led to the American Revolution.
