What does a mint mark look like on US coin?

Mint marks on US coins appear as small letters. Depending on the mint that produced the coin, they come in the following variations:

- P: Philadelphia Mint in Pennsylvania.

- D: Denver Mint in Colorado.

- S: San Francisco Mint in California.

- W: West Point Mint in New York (used for commemorative coins and bullion coins).

- CC: Carson City Mint in Nevada (Used from 1870 to 1893).

- O: New Orleans Mint in Louisiana (Used from 1838 to 1909).

- C: Charlotte Mint in North Carolina (Used from 1838 to 1861).

- **DAHL*: Dahlonega Mint Georgia (Used from 1838 to 1861)
