What was the colonial attitude before 1760?

The colonial attitude before 1760 was generally one of loyalty and respect for the British Crown. The colonies were seen as an extension of Britain, and the colonists were proud to be British subjects. They looked to Britain for guidance and protection, and they were grateful for the benefits of being part of the British Empire.

There were, of course, some tensions between the colonies and Britain. The colonies were often frustrated by the British government's policies, which were often seen as unfair or oppressive. But these tensions were usually resolved peacefully, and the colonists remained loyal to the Crown.

The situation began to change in the 1760s, when the British government began to impose new taxes and regulations on the colonies. These measures were seen as a violation of the colonists' rights, and they led to growing discontent and unrest. By 1776, the colonies had declared independence from Britain, and the American Revolutionary War had begun.
