What is the oldest grandfather clock in America?

The oldest grandfather clock in America that is still in operation is the Rittenhouse Clock. The Rittenhouse Clock is a tall case or "grandfather" clock that was made by David Rittenhouse, an American clockmaker, inventor, astronomer and mathematician, in 1711. The clock was installed in the State House in Philadelphia and kept the time for the Pennsylvania General Assembly. The Rittenhouse Clock is now on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
