What Union general won the US Civil War Battle of Shiloh?

The Battle of Shiloh was not won by a Union general. The Confederate Army of Tennessee, led by Generals P.G.T. Beauregard and Albert Sidney Johnston, initially had the upper hand in the first day's fighting. However, the Union Army of the Tennessee, led by General Ulysses S. Grant, reinforced its positions during the night, and launched a counterattack the next day, ultimately securing the victory for the Union.
