How did Egyptian writing last so long?

Egyptian writing lasted for thousands of years because of its monumental nature and its use in religious texts. Hieroglyphs were carved in stone, painted on tombs and temples, and inscribed on papyrus and other writing materials. This ensured that the writing would survive for centuries, even in harsh conditions. Additionally, the Egyptian writing system was used to record religious texts and rituals, which were considered essential for the afterlife and the functioning of the universe. This meant that the writing system was highly valued and preserved by priests and scribes.
