Tuzigoot National Monument , archaeological site in Central Arizona , USA It is located in the Verde River Valley, 3 km east of Clarkdale. The Montezuma Castle National Monument is about 32 km southeast. The 1939 monument occupies an area of 3.4 square kilometers. Its name comes from a Apache word meaning "crooked water".
The outstanding feature of the monument is the ruin of a monument excavated in 1933-34 and partially rebuilt Sinagua Native American pueblo (village) , the 110 room, which were occupied between about ad 1000 and 1400. Original is the hill pueblo rose two or three stories high, and ladders provided access to his room through openings in the roofs. A museum shows Artifacts like stone and horn Devices , jewelry, straw mats, and pottery that all obtained from pueblo soils and tombs.
