Loango Kingdom , also Named the Brama Kingdom , former African state in the basin of the Kouilou and Niari rivers (today mostly in southwestern Congo [Brazzaville]). Founded by The Vili people (Bavaria) were probably one of the oldest and largest kingdoms in the region before 1485. By the 1600s, it imported ivory and slaves from the interior along well-established trade routes that stretched inland to Malebo pool extended .

Administration was orderly but decentralized. The men in line to succeed the crown acted as provincial governors, changing provinces in a set order each time a king died. Other area officials have held office for life. Until the 18th century, power was fragmented. A long interregnum began in 1786, and when a king finally enthroned he lacked any real authority.
