Cerro Sechín , Pre-Columbian Temple in what is now the Casma Valley on the north central coast Peru , known for his unusually large stone sculptures. These carvings are in a style unlike anything else in Peru. The Cerro Sechín temple and sculptures are probably quite early, though uncertain is whether they are before Chavín (before approx. 900 v . Ch. ) are. Cerro Sechín's carvings were made by deep incisions on relatively unfinished stone slabs. Most of the figures represent people, perhaps dead or sacrificed.
