the 120mm M-1943 which is the common infantry model. This one has an excellent reputation, justly deserved and such that in 1943 the German Army simply copied this mortar rather than waste time trying to make a better one. Despite its age, it is still widely used, not only in the Soviet Army, but also by most of the satellite countries. It fires a 15.8 kg bomb at 5,700 meters. It is normally transported on a two-wheeled mount, but can also be disassembled into three parts — the tube, the bipod and the base plate — to be carried on a man's back.
