75mm recoilless gun manufactured by the United States during WWII from the 57mm T15E3 recoilless gun. It is very well suited for the destruction of light armored vehicles.
During the war, the United States Army sought more efficient equipment by increasing the caliber and improving the breech system. Two versions, using either the conventional 75 pack ammunition or the perforated and pre-rifled cartridge, were developed. Technical problems will eliminate the first one.
It is normally served ashore on a tripod and transported aboard a light all-terrain vehicle such as a Jeep.
It was staffed in airborne infantry units in 1945 and certain marching artillery units of French formations operating in overseas theaters in the 1950s.
