How many time zones in the former soviet union?

The former Soviet Union (USSR) spanned eleven time zones, which were established in the 1930s and remained in use until the dissolution of the USSR in 1991. The time zones were originally based on the meridian of Pulkovo Observatory, located near Saint Petersburg, which served as the prime meridian for the USSR. The time zones were numbered from UTC+02:00 (Minsk Time) in the west to UTC+12:00 (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky Time) in the east.
