Did the central powers or allies win in ww1?

The Allied Powers, consisting of France, the United Kingdom, Russia (until March 1918), Italy (from 1915), Japan, the United States (from 1917) and others, defeated the Central Powers, consisting of Germany, Austria-Hungary (until November 1918), the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria. The war ended on November 11, 1918, when the Armistice of Compiègne was signed between the Allies and Germany. The Allied Powers were victorious in the war and the Central Powers were defeated.
