What crusades were successful?

* The First Crusade (1095-1099) was successful in capturing Jerusalem from the Muslims and establishing the Kingdom of Jerusalem.

* The Third Crusade (1189-1192) was successful in recapturing Jerusalem from the Muslims after it had been lost in 1187.

* The Fourth Crusade (1202-1204) was originally intended to retake Jerusalem, but instead resulted in the capture of Constantinople and the establishment of the Latin Empire.

* The Sixth Crusade (1228-1229) was successful in capturing Jerusalem and other Holy Land territories from the Muslims, but these gains were soon lost.

* The Seventh Crusade (1248-1254) was successful in capturing the port city of Damietta in Egypt, but failed to retake Jerusalem.
