History of Europe

What did the union want?

Collective bargaining - The right for workers to negotiate with their employer over wages, benefits, and working conditions.

Higher wages - Unions have historically been successful in negotiating higher wages for their members than workers who are not unionized.

Better benefits - Unions have also been successful in negotiating better benefits, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Safer working conditions - Unions have fought for and won many safety regulations that protect workers from injury or death on the job.

A voice in the workplace - Unions give workers a voice in their workplace and a say in the decisions that affect them.

Equal rights - Unions have fought for equal pay for equal work, civil rights, and the right to organize without discrimination.
