Why is albert Einstein important to the us during ww1?

Albert Einstein did not play a significant role in the United States during World War I. He was a pacifist and did not support either side in the war. Einstein did, however, sign a manifesto in August 1914 denouncing the atrocities committed by all sides in the war. During 1914 to 1918, Einstein lived neutral Switzerland after leaving imperial Germany for opposing a German manifesto in support of World War I.
