According to the legend how was city of Rome founded?

According to Roman mythology, the city of Rome was founded by the twin brothers Romulus and Remus. The twins were the sons of the god Mars and Rhea Silvia, a Vestal Virgin. After being cast into the Tiber River as infants, they were rescued by a she-wolf and raised by a shepherd and his wife. As adults, the twins decided to build a city on the banks of the river where they had been found. Romulus and Remus argued over who should rule the city. Romulus killed Remus and named the city Rome after himself. The traditional date for the founding of Rome is 753 BC.
