How did World War 1 peace conferences affect Belgium?

Belgium lost Eupen-Malmédy to Belgium. Eupen-Malmédy was a region in eastern Belgium that prior to World War I had been part of Prussia and had a majority German speaking population. Eupen-Malmédy was transferred from Germany to Belgium.

Belgium received German territories in East Africa. As part of the Treaty of Versailles, Germany lost all of its overseas colonies, including German East Africa (present-day Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi). Belgium was awarded the Ruanda-Urundi region of German East Africa, which became a Belgian mandate territory. It was divided into two provinces, Ruanda and Urundi. It became independent as Rwanda and Burundi in 1962.
