My dearest family in Europe,

I hope this letter finds you all in good health. It has been a long time since I last wrote, and I thought it was time for an update on our family and our life here in New England.

We have been living on our subsistence farm in Amherst for almost ten years now. It has been a hard life, but we have managed to make a good living. We grow a variety of crops, including corn, wheat, oats, and vegetables. We also raise livestock, such as cows, pigs, and chickens. We preserve much of this produce, either by smoking, canning, or drying, to last through the winter.

We all work hard on the farm. My husband and sons work the fields and tend to the animals, while I and my daughters take care of the house and the garden. We all help with the harvest and other tasks as needed.

Life on our farm is simple, but it is rewarding. We have everything we need to live a good life, and we are grateful for what we have. We have a strong sense of community, and we are always helping each other out.

We miss you all very much, and we hope that you will come to visit us soon.

With love,

Your family in New England
