History of Europe

What was the name of US Army post in Swabisch Gmund Germany?

The US Army post in Schwäbisch Gmünd, Germany, was called McCaffery Kaserne. It was named after Private First Class William McCaffery, who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. The post was closed in 1992 as part of the US military's draw-down in Europe after the end of the Cold War.
