History of Europe

What three things brought Greeks together?

1. The Olympic Games: These athletic competitions were held every four years in Olympia and were considered sacred. All Greek city-states sent athletes to compete, and a victory was a great honor for the athlete and his city-state.

2. The Oracle at Delphi: This religious shrine was dedicated to the god Apollo, and the oracle there was believed to be able to predict the future. People from all over Greece came to Delphi to seek advice from the oracle.

3. The Theater: Greek theater was a popular form of entertainment, and plays were often performed in honor of the gods or to commemorate important events. The theater was a place where Greeks could come together and share in a common experience.
