The 13th Light Bombardment Squadron was one of the Greek Squadrons that operated from the desert with the Allies in World War II.
During her stay in N. Africa and the N. East until April 1944, she performed more than 1600 combat missions, exceeding 4550 flying hours in total. During this time the Squadron had 13 flying personnel killed.
Despite the warlike situation of the period, however, the action of politicized groups created serious problems for the fighting Greek units, with a strong appearance of these in the 13th M.E.V.
In order to stop the riots, the British hastened the movement of the Squadron to Italy, where the operations against the Germans were in progress. Thus the 13th M.E.B. on April 29, 1944, he left for Italy.
A few days later, this Squadron started from the Biferno airfield its missions, which for the first time were light bombing mainly on railway installations.
These missions he continued on a daily basis with considerable success, receiving honors from the upper echelons. READ ABOUT HER ACTION IN YUGOSLAVIA AT ARMYVOICE.GR
