During a meeting between Florentine and Venetian humanists of the time -fifteenth century- various topics of their chosen intellects were discussed:artistic, literary, philosophical, theological... (very entertaining), but as in any meeting of men, in the end, they touched more mundane issues - and I'm not referring to football. I suppose that some women would also be mentioned in the meeting, but the main topic was the dimensions of masculine attributes (It is clear that for humanists size matters). Florentines and Venetians boasted of their attributes; all theory, they did not reach the empirical demonstration. Having seen the paths that the discussion was taking, the Florentine Poggio Bracciolini settled the controversy with these words:
– Obviously the best endowed men are the Venetians, since their virile member is of such dimensions that it covers enormous distances…
And he continued:
– How could it be explained if, even after spending several years away from home due to their long sea voyages, they found on their return that they are parents of two or even three children?
