How did the cold war lead to globlization?

The Cold War did not lead to globalisation. In fact, one could argue the opposite. The Cold War was a period of intense competition between the United States and the Soviet Union, and this competition led to the creation of two distinct economic and political blocs: the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc. These two blocs were largely closed off from each other, and there was very little trade or economic cooperation between them.

It was not until the end of the Cold War in 1991 that these blocs began to open up to each other, and this led to a rapid increase in globalisation.
