What part of todays US were the least known in beginning 19th century?

In the beginning of the 19th century, some of the least known parts of the present day United States were:

1. The Western Frontier:

- Comprised of vast unexplored territories, including the Rocky Mountains, the Great Plains, and the Pacific Northwest.

2. Texas and the Southwest:

- Texas was part of Mexico, while the Southwest was largely uncharted and inhabited by Native American tribes.

3. Alaska:

- Known as Russian America, it was far removed from the settlements in the eastern United States.

4. Florida and the Gulf Coast:

- Much of Florida was still wild and undeveloped, and the Gulf Coast was considered a frontier region.
