History of South America

What was two advantage the South had over North?

1) Superior Cavalry: The South had a tradition of horseback riding and mounted combat due to its agrarian economy and vast expanses of land, which required herding of livestock and transportation. This gave them a significant advantage in cavalry forces.

2) Strong Defensive Position: The Southern states occupied a geographically advantageous position. They had an extensive coastline, making it challenging for the Union Navy to blockade all ports and inlets effectively. The South also had a vast interior with numerous navigable rivers, facilitating internal transportation and supplies movement.
