Why were children moved out of the cities during World War 2?

Children were moved out of the cities during World War 2 because of the threat of air raids and bombings. Many cities in Europe and Asia were heavily bombed during the war, and children were seen as particularly vulnerable to these attacks. In order to protect them, many children were evacuated from the cities to rural areas or to the countryside, where they were less likely to be affected by the bombings.
