What does the flag of Brazil look like?

The Flag of Brazil is a green rectangular field with a large yellow rhombus in the center, superimposed on a blue circle. Within the circle are 27 white five-pointed stars, representing the 26 states of Brazil and the Federal District. The rhombus is called "losango" in Portuguese, and contains a blue sphere with 27 white five-pointed stars. These 27 stars are arranged in such a way that one star is centered and the other 26 stars surround the central one in eight groups. The words "Ordem e Progresso" (Order and Progress) in green appear on an arched green band across the center of the yellow diamond. The flag was adopted on November 19, 1889, replacing the flag of the Empire of Brazil.
