What The starving time at Jamestown?

The Starving Time was a period of extreme hardship and famine at the Jamestown settlement in the winter of 1609-1610. The settlers were unprepared for the harsh climate and faced a shortage of food, leading to widespread starvation and disease. Many of the settlers died, including the colony's leader, John Smith. The Starving Time is considered one of the most difficult periods in Jamestown's history and is a reminder of the challenges faced by the early colonists.
