Who were the rich white men of middle colonies?

* Robert Livingston: Livingston was a Scottish immigrant who became one of the wealthiest men in the colonies. He was the founder of the Livingston family, one of the most prominent families in New York history. Livingston served as the first Lord of the Manor of Livingston and was a member of the Governor's Council.

* John Watts: Watts was an English immigrant who became a successful merchant and politician. He was the mayor of New York City from 1734 to 1736. Watts also served as a member of the Governor's Council and was one of the founders of King's College (now Columbia University).

* James DeLancey: DeLancey was a French Huguenot immigrant who became one of the most powerful men in New York. He was the chief justice of the New York Supreme Court from 1733 to 1755 and served as acting governor of the colony from 1753 to 1755. DeLancey was also a member of the Governor's Council and was one of the founders of King's College.

* Cadwallader Colden: Colden was a Scottish immigrant who became a prominent scientist and politician. He was the lieutenant governor of New York from 1760 to 1771. Colden was also a member of the Governor's Council and was one of the founders of the American Philosophical Society.

* William Franklin: Franklin was the illegitimate son of Benjamin Franklin. He was the governor of New Jersey from 1762 to 1776. Franklin was also a member of the Governor's Council and was one of the founders of the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University).
