Which countries comprised the triple entente and alliance?

The Triple Entente was a loose alliance formed between Britain, France, and Russia as a response to Germany's growing military power and influence in Europe. Italy joined the Entente in 1915, but switched sides in 1940.

The Triple Alliance was a formal military alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. It was formed in 1882 as a defensive alliance, with the aim of preventing any of the three countries from being attacked by another major European power.
