History of Oceania

What was the name of supercontinent before all continents broke up?

The name of the supercontinent before all continents broke up is Pangaea. Pangaea was the result of the collision and accretion of various microcontinents and smaller landmasses over billions of years. It existed about 335 to 175 million years ago during the late Paleozoic and early Mesozoic eras. Pangaea had a single, massive ocean called the Panthalassa. It later broke up into the continents that we know today, which are still slowly shifting due to plate tectonics.
