What were some challenges colonists faced when coming to the new world?

The early colonist of America faced a number of challenges when first arriving in the new world. Some of these challenges included:

- Disease: Colonist faced various and often deadly disease that were present in America but not in Europe.

-Harsh environment: The climate of America was often much harsher than Europe. Colonists had to adapt to extreme temperatures, rough terrain and unfamiliar climate patterns.

-Food shortages: The absence of familiar food sources and limited food production techniques could lead to malnutrition and starvation.

-Native American conflicts: Frequent encounters with Native Americans created tensions and conflicts between colonists and indigenous communities.

-Religious persecution: Some colonists came to the new world seeking religious freedom, but some found that religious differences also existed among the colonies.

-Political conflicts: Different political and social systems could result in conflicts between the colonies and their relationship with the British crown.

-Technological limitations: The lack of advanced technology and limited resources made it difficult for colonists to adapt to their new surroundings.

-Social and cultural adjustment: Colonists coming from different European societies had to adjust to different cultures, customs and ways of life.
