History of Oceania

Where was oceanus born?

In Greek mythology, Oceanus was not "born" in the traditional sense, as he is a primordial deity. He is often considered to have emerged within the primordial chaos, alongside other primordial deities. Oceanus is commonly regarded as the personification of the great encircling river that was believed to flow around the edge of the Earth. Some accounts in Greek mythology describe him as the son of Uranus (the sky) and Gaia (the Earth), while other sources mention him as the offspring of Tethys, another primordial goddess.
