How many are alive from World War 2 today?

It is difficult to determine the precise number of people alive today who actively participated in World War 2, as many veterans have passed away in the decades since the war ended.

However, according to estimates, there were approximately 80 million military personnel who served during the war from all countries involved. Based on the average life expectancy of someone born in the 1920s or 1930s, a significant portion of these veterans would have passed away by now.

Taking into account the passage of time and the fact that some veterans were already in their 20s or 30s at the time of the war, it is likely that the number of living veterans from World War 2 today is relatively small, probably in the hundreds of thousands or less.
